Nissan Motor India marked a major milestone with the export of its 1.2 millionth vehicle from Tamil Nadu, reaffirming India’s position as a key export base for Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Oceania. The milestone car, a New Nissan Magnite B- sport utility vehicle (SUV), was flagged off from Kamarajar Port, Ennore, by Managing Director, Nissan Motor India, Mr. Saurabh Vatsa. The company said it will further strengthen its export strategy with the launch of the Nissan Tekton in 2026. He noted that the achievement reflects the collective dedication of teams and the trust of customers worldwide in Made-in-India cars.
The company highlighted that the milestone reinforces its ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ philosophy. Nissan currently exports models like the Magnite, Sunny, Kicks, and Micra to over 65 countries. The upcoming Nissan Tekton, co-developed with Renault at the Chennai facility, will enter the C-SUV segment in 2026, competing with top-selling models such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The automaker also plans to double its India portfolio and expand its dealership network over the next two years, positioning India as a central hub in its global growth strategy.
