Japanese automaker Nissan plans to launch five new models in the next 30 months to revitalise its presence in the rapidly growing Indian car market. Currently, Nissan offers only one model in India but aims to introduce two mid-size SUVs (a five-seater and a seven-seater), an electric SUV, and a refreshed version of the compact SUV Magnite. The company has also unveiled the latest version of its premium SUV X-Trail, which will be imported as a completely built-up (CBU) model.

Mr. Frank Torres, President of Nissan India, emphasised India's importance to the company, stating, "We are planning a product offensive over the next two and a half years, between FY24 and FY26." He said the company aims to triple the sales volumes in domestic and export markets by FY26, targeting annual volumes of 100,000 units each. He highlighted that the new product range will feature advanced technology and strong value propositions for customers.

Mr. Saurabh Vatsa, MD of Nissan Motor India, expressed confidence in the market's growth, saying, "We are not too late to the market as it continues to grow and evolve." He stressed the importance of relevance to consumers and segments, asserting confidence in the new product lineup. Nissan also intends to expand its sales network within India.
