Chairman of Tata Sons, Mr. N. Chandrasekaran, urged the Indian industry to actively support the vision of a developed nation, or ‘Viksit Bharat’, highlighting the importance of quality and excellence in manufacturing and services. Speaking at a symposium organised by the Indian Foundation for Quality Management (IFQM), he said that achieving economic, social, infrastructure, and inclusive growth requires collective efforts aligned with the vision of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. He emphasised that India must be recognised globally for producing products and services of the highest standards, while developing the entire ecosystem across stakeholders to drive sustainable progress.
He noted that India’s growth journey comes amid global macroeconomic instability, geopolitical conflicts, supply chain disruptions, and workforce mobility issues. He stressed that as the government rolls out key reforms, industry must rise to the occasion and participate fully in nation-building. Underscoring the critical role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), he called for raising their level of excellence to strengthen India’s manufacturing sector and maintain momentum towards the goal of a developed nation.
