A recent report by ServiceNow highlights that India's workforce is projected to grow from 423.73 million in 2023 to 457.62 million by 2028, adding approximately 33.89 million jobs. The report emphasizes that the rise in demand for skilled professionals in the retail sector presents a significant opportunity for workers to enhance their expertise in Software Application Development and Data Engineering. This shift is driven by technological advancements across various sectors, with the tech industry expected to create 2.73 million new jobs by 2028. Other sectors like manufacturing, education, and healthcare are also anticipated to see substantial job growth, fuelled by economic expansion and technological transformation.
Senior Vice President and Managing Director of ServiceNow India Technology and Business Center, Mr. Sumeet Mathur, noted that artificial intelligence (AI) will play a crucial role in job creation, particularly in positions that require advanced technical skills. By fostering these essential skills within the workforce, India can strengthen its position in the global tech economy. The report also indicates that roles such as AI Systems Engineers and implementation consultants will experience significant benefits from generative AI, which can streamline tasks and allow professionals to concentrate on more strategic initiatives. Overall, emerging technologies are set to revolutionize the tech landscape, enabling workers to be more efficient and productive in their roles.
