India has been re-elected as the Vice-Chairperson of the Bureau for the Asia-Pacific (Group IV) for the 2025–2027 term during the 10th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP10) to the International Convention against Doping in Sport, held from October 20-22, 2025, at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Headquarters in Paris. The Indian delegation, led by Secretary (Sports) Mr. Hari Ranjan Rao and National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) Director General Mr. Anant Kumar, participated alongside delegates from over 190 countries and major global bodies such as the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the International Olympic Committee. India also extended in-kind support to the event by providing Interactive Boards showcasing the journey of the Anti-Doping Convention.
The discussions at COP10 centred on enhancing governance, ensuring compliance, and addressing new challenges like gene manipulation and ethical issues in sport. India successfully proposed amendments to promote harmonisation and visibility of education-related initiatives through the Values Education through Sport (VETS) approach, aimed at instilling ethics and integrity among youth and sports organisations. The session marked the Convention’s 20th anniversary. It concluded with all member nations reaffirming their collective commitment to clean and fair sport.
