He added, “There are more micro-fulfilment centres in the pipeline, which leads to an enhanced supply chains. This helps us to step further closer to our goal of 15-min deliveries. We aim to build a better, safer space for on-demand services at convenience in India.”
Dunzo’s (business-to-business) logistics service has expanded 2x by collaborating with volunteers, NGOs and other organisations to deliver essentials.
Dunzo is expanding its operations to ensure that it can meet the needs of everyone in the community. It is utilising the power of micro-fulfilment centres (MFCs) to respond to demand in a timely manner. Deploying 250 micro-fulfilment centres to serve 700 plus neighbourhoods, Dunzo’s MFCs will stock the top 1500 SKUs (stock keeping units) to encourage a more consistent ordering experience as well as deliveries
Via this model, Dunzo is establishing the largest online convenience store in the country supported by local neighbourhoods and merchants. The company plans to expand operations to 20 cities by 2022.
As per FIS (financial technology firm), India’s e-commerce market is expected to increase by 84% to reach US$ 111 billion by 2024.
