Amul has been recognized as the world's strongest food and dairy brand, according to the Brand Finance Food & Drink 2024 report. With a Brand Strength Index (BSI) score of 91.0 out of 100, Amul earned the prestigious AAA+ rating, solidifying its leadership in the global food and dairy sectors. The Brand Finance report highlights Amul's growing international influence, driven by its strong performance in familiarity, consideration, and recommendation metrics. Despite challenges in the dairy industry, with a 6% decline in the total brand value of the top 10 dairy brands, Amul retained its title as the strongest dairy brand for the fourth consecutive year, thanks to its unique cooperative structure and impactful branding.

The report also recognized Nestlé and Lay's as leaders in brand value. Nestlé remained the world's most valuable food brand despite a 7% decline in brand value to US$ 20.8 billion. In comparison, Lay's saw a 9% increase, reaching US$ 12 billion, driven by innovative product offerings. The overall brand value of the food and beverage sector declined by 4%, totalling around US$ 268 billion, as consumers increasingly favour smaller, private-label brands. However, convenience foods are bucking the trend, with brands like Healthy Choice and DiGiorno seeing a 17% increase in brand value. Sustainability continues to be crucial, with Nestlé leading the food sector in Sustainability Perceptions Value at US$ 1.4 billion and Coca-Cola topping the non-alcoholic drinks sector at US$ 5.2 billion.
