Women-led StartUps to place India in global arena, says Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed

Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh expressed confidence that women-led startups will position India prominently on the global stage in the coming years. Speaking at the virtual inauguration of 8 new NIDHI Inclusive Technology Business Incubators (i-TBIs) across India and the launch of a new DST-NIDHI website at IIT Delhi, He highlighted the importance of fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. The 8new i-TBIs, established under the Department of Science and Technology’s NIDHI initiative, are located at Central University of Rajasthan, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary University Ludhiana, BLDE Bijapur, Aligarh Muslim University, Pranveer Singh Institute of Technology Kanpur, Guru Ghasidas University Bilaspur, GSSS Institute of Engineering Mysore, and University of Petroleum & Energy Studies Dehradun. These incubators aim to cultivate an entrepreneurial culture among students, faculties, and local communities.

He also launched the DST-GDC IIT Madras Incubate Program for Deep Tech Startups, funded by notable IIT Madras alumni, to support innovators from Tier II and Tier III cities. He lauded the success of the NIDHI program, initiated in 2016 under Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s Startup India, Stand Up India initiative, for bridging the gap between academia and industry. The program’s structured support has nurtured numerous tech startups, including many women-led ventures. He emphasized the role of innovation in fields like AI, Quantum Computing, and New Energy in transforming India into a developed nation by 2047. He also stressed that NIDHI ensures intellectual properties move from labs to the marketplace, contributing to India’s self-reliance and economic growth while reaffirming Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of women entrepreneurs leading the global innovation race.
