Union Minister of Finance, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman invites Mexican firms to collaborate with startups and academic institutions

Union Minster of Finance, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, during her address at the Tech Leaders Roundtable in Guadalajara, Mexico, encouraged Mexican firms to explore collaborations with startups and academic institutions, emphasizing the advantages of India's business-friendly policies. She highlighted the opportunities and responsibilities shared by economies in similar positions, asserting that India and Mexico can leverage their strengths through collaboration. She noted Mexico's success in nearshoring, which has fostered partnerships between multinational companies and facilitated talent exchange and risk mitigation. Her post on ‘X’ underscored the rapid transformation occurring in India as it works towards the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Additionally, she discussed key budget announcements regarding establishing Centres of Excellence (CoEs) in India, specifically in artificial intelligence in health and healthcare, agriculture, and sustainable cities. She reiterated that both countries could explore collaboration in these sectors. She stated that for large economies, the challenges extend beyond growth to bridging gaps and creating opportunities for all, underscoring the importance of Responsible Capitalism. Throughout her official visit, which concludes on October 20, she is set to hold bilateral discussions with her Mexican counterpart, Mr. Rogelio Ramirez de la O, and engage with various members of the Mexican Parliament to enhance parliamentary cooperation and promote economic development.
