Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Piyush Goyal, commemorated four years of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan (NMP) in New Delhi, highlighting its transformative impact on India’s infrastructure planning and execution. He underscored that PM GatiShakti, launched under the vision of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, integrates speed, efficiency, and multi-sectoral coordination to drive inclusive and sustainable development, playing a pivotal role in India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047. He noted that the initiative bridges macro-level planning with micro-level execution, enabling evidence-based decision-making and cross-sectoral collaboration.
During the event, he launched several key initiatives to enhance infrastructure planning, including opening the NMP platform to the private sector through a Query-Based Analytics Mechanism developed by the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics (BISAG-N). He also released the PM GatiShakti Compendium Volume three, unveiled the PMGS NMP Dashboard, and launched the Knowledge Management System (KMS) to promote cross-learning among Ministries, Departments, and States/UTs. Other launches included PM GatiShakti - Offshore for integrated offshore planning, the Data Uploading & Management System (DUMS), the PMGS District Master Plan (DMP) for Aspirational Districts, and the Logistics Excellence, Advancement and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2025 to recognize excellence in logistics. Over the past four years, PM GatiShakti has evaluated over 300 major infrastructure projects, enabled 36 States/UTs to align State Master Plans with the national vision, and expanded into socio-economic sectors such as healthcare, education, and tribal development. He emphasized that PM GatiShakti is evolving beyond physical infrastructure to include social infrastructure, human development, digital integration, and offshore resource planning, establishing itself as a central tool for national and human development.
