UDAN has transformed Indian aviation by connecting smaller cities, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, speaking at the eighth anniversary of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, highlighted its transformative impact on India's aviation sector. The scheme has enhanced air connectivity by linking smaller cities and making air travel more affordable. The initiative has increased the number of airports and air routes and made flying accessible to millions. "The UDAN scheme has played a crucial role in boosting trade, commerce, and regional growth. He stated that we will continue strengthening the aviation sector in the future, focusing on improved connectivity and greater comfort for passengers," he stated.

According to an official government update, the UDAN scheme has facilitated over 2.8 lakh flights and enabled 1.5 crore passengers to travel at affordable rates. The scheme has operationalised 86 aerodromes and established 617 routes, significantly improving connectivity across India.
