To combat the increasing number of rail accidents, the Railway Board will install CCTV cameras with Artificial Intelligence (AI) on all locomotives and key yards, as announced by Railway Board Chairperson and CEO Ms. Jaya Verma Sinha. During a press briefing at Prayagraj Railway Junction, Sinha explained that these AI-equipped cameras will monitor for unusual situations. She also noted that security agencies will ensure the safety of railway tracks during the Kumbh Mela to prevent vandalism.

She reviewed preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela, expressing confidence that infrastructure and capacity expansion projects will be completed soon. Approximately 900 special trains are anticipated for Kumbh 2025, up from 530 in 2019, with over 30 crore pilgrims expected. Detailed emergency management plans are underway. Additionally, Prayagraj Junction will be developed as an Amrit Bharat Station, with part of the building ready before the Kumbh and full completion expected within 1 to 2 years. She also reviewed Kumbh Mela preparations with general managers from North Central Railway, Northern Railway, and Northeast Frontier Railway and conducted site inspections at various stations.
