Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to inaugurate India's longest sea bridge, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, on January 12

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) on January 12, marking the completion of this impressive 22km sea bridge, the 12th longest in the world. The construction, initiated in 2018, spans from Sewri in south Mumbai, crossing Thane Creek, and concludes at Chirle on the outskirts of Navi Mumbai.

A senior state government official stated, "The state government has extended an invitation to the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, for the inauguration of this bridge on January 12."Preparations for the inauguration are underway, with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) issuing tenders for event management and project management consultants. On January 4, 2024, toll rates were disclosed, with a one-way trip priced at US$ 3.01 (Rs. 250) and a round trip incurring a fee of US$ 4.52 (Rs. 375). Day passes are US$ 7.53 (Rs. 625), and monthly passes are available for US$ 150.63 (Rs. 12,500).
