Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi releases special stamp and coin to mark the inauguration of new Parliament building

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi issued a special commemorative postage stamp and a US$ 0.91 (Rs. 75) coin to commemorate the inauguration of the new Parliament building.

He unveiled the coin and stamp during the inaugural ceremony for the new Parliament building's Lok Sabha chamber.

The Union Ministry of Finance's Department of Economic Affairs published a gazette notification stating that the currency will weigh between 34.65 and 35.35 grams.

One side of the coin will include a picture of the Lion Capital of the Ashoka Pillar in the centre, flanked by the words "Bharat" in Devanagari script and "INDIA" in English.

The rupee sign "₹" and denominational value "75" in international numbers will also be imprinted underneath the Lion Capital.

The opposite side of the coin will include a picture of the Parliament Complex with the year "2023" in international numerals underneath the image.
