Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi launches railway, national highway projects worth over US$ 453.6 million (Rs. 3,800 crore) in Odisha

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated railway and national highway projects in Odisha worth US$ 453.6 million (Rs. 3,800 crore). In Bhubaneswar, he laid the foundation stone for railway projects valued at over US$ 334.2 million (Rs. 2,800 crore) to enhance railway infrastructure and boost connectivity in the region. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for national highway projects worth more than US$ 119.4 million (Rs. 1,000 crore). Earlier, he and Odisha Chief Minister Mr. Mohan Charan Majhi interacted with beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana-Urban in Bhubaneswar. He visited several homes, where beneficiaries welcomed him with sweets and aarti while sharing their queries.

Furthermore, He launched the Subhadra scheme, under which eligible beneficiaries aged 21-60 years will receive US$ 5.97 billion (Rs. 50,000) over 5 years (2024-25 to 2028-29). US$ 119.37 (Rs. 10,000) per annum, in two equal instalments, will be directly credited to their bank accounts. So far, 76 lakh women have registered for the scheme. During the program, over US$ 149.2 million (Rs. 1,250 crore) was transferred to the bank accounts of over 25 lakh women beneficiaries under the Subhadra scheme.
