Paradip Port Breaks its own record for swiftest climb to 100 MMT Cargo Handling among Indian Major Ports

Paradip Port has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence by achieving a cargo handling milestone of 100 million Metric Tonnes (MMT) in the shortest time in its history. This marks the 7th consecutive year of surpassing the 100 MMT mark, with the achievement of 100.28 MMT on December 18 in the current fiscal year. Notably, in the previous fiscal year, the 100 MMT mark was reached on January 9, 2023. This record-breaking accomplishment was achieved 22 days ahead of schedule, showcasing a 9.64% growth in total cargo throughput within 262 days in the current fiscal year, compared to 284 days in the last financial year. This achievement represents the fastest century in Paradip Port's history.

Paradip Port is set to achieve a record cargo handling of over 145 MMT this fiscal year. Outbound Iron Ore and Pellet show a 69.03% growth. Coastal Thermal Coal handling accounts for 30.38% of the total cargo volume. Key Performance Parameters have significantly improved, making Paradip Port a coastal shipping hub. Chairman, PPA, expressed gratitude to Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, Minister of Ports, for the achievement and appreciated the support from government authorities. The symbolic cake-cutting ceremony marked the occasion.
