India to see 20 times growth in computing capacity in 2024: Nvidia CEO

India, a vital player in the global computer industry, is projected to experience 20 times increase in computing capacities in 2024, with aspirations to export significant Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, according to founder and CEO of Nvidia, Mr. Jensen Huang. At the Nvidia AI Summit 2024, he highlighted Nvidia's dedication to expanding its ecosystem within India, describing the nation as central to the Information Technology (IT) sector for numerous global companies.

He noted the transformative changes occurring in the industry due to advancements in AI, asserting that India is poised to transition from being predominantly a software exporter to a leader in AI exports. He remarked, “India exported software; in the future, India will export AI,” emphasising the shift from traditional software production to impactful AI development and delivery. Regarding concerns about job displacement, He reassured that AI will not eliminate jobs outright but will change how they are executed, stating, “AI will not take away a job, but the person who uses AI to do a job better will take away the job.”
