India's domestic air passenger traffic to touch 300 million by 2030: Minister of Civil Aviation Mr. K. Rammohan Naidu

India's domestic air passenger traffic is projected to reach 300 million by 2030, with an investment of approximately US$ 11 billion allocated for airport development, according to Minister of Civil Aviation Mr. K. Rammohan Naidu. Speaking at a conference organized by the French Aerospace Industries Association (GIFAS) in the national capital, the minister highlighted the potential for collaboration between India and France to establish a robust global Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) supply chain.

As one of the world's fastest-growing civil aviation markets, India is witnessing significant airline fleet and network expansions to accommodate increasing demand. Currently, the country has 157 airports, heliports, and waterdromes, with the number of operational airports expected to reach 200 by the end of 2025. He noted that an additional 200 airports are anticipated to be developed over the next 20 to 25 years, underscoring the immense partnership potential between India and France.
