India powers SAP's global growth engine like never before: President & Managing Director, SAP Indian Subcontinent, Mr. Manish Prasad

SAP views India as one of its largest and fastest-growing markets, with the scale of products developed here surpassing other regions, according to President & Managing Director, SAP Indian Subcontinent, Mr. Manish Prasad. He highlighted India’s size, agility, and expanding consumption base as key strengths, noting that around 65-70% of what the country produces is consumed domestically, insulating the economy from global shocks. While he acknowledged that tariffs may have a temporary indirect impact on the information technology and services sector, he stressed that India’s long-term growth story remains intact.
SAP India is strengthening its local presence through innovation and compliance solutions that help customers track market-specific regulations, quality checks, and operational efficiency. In August, the company inaugurated a research and development campus in Bengaluru, its second largest globally, capable of housing nearly 15,000 professionals focused on product engineering, support services, and artificial intelligence. SAP also introduced its Sovereign Cloud offering in India, providing an end-to-end stack of infrastructure, applications, and network to ensure data security and adherence to domestic legal requirements. He said the initiative underscores SAP’s commitment to technical and operational sovereignty while catering to both local and global customers.
