India and the Philippines have joined forces to enhance their space and electronics industries, with the Satcom Industry Association-India (SIA-India) and the Electronic Industry Association of the Philippines Inc (EIAPI) signing an MoU to promote cooperation. This partnership aims to deepen industry-to-industry links and enable collaborative manufacturing, joint research, and innovation in satellite communication hardware, embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and space electronics. The MoU, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, will facilitate the co-development of critical components and support supply chain integration.
According to SIA-India President Mr. Subba Rao Pavuluri, the goal is to turn this vision into practical outcomes that will strengthen the space and electronics ecosystems of both nations through joint projects, innovation, and skill development. The collaboration will also enable the Philippines to become a more active contributor to the Indo-Pacific technology ecosystem. The agreement opens up new opportunities for the Philippines to work with India in advancing space electronics, satellite payload components, and ground infrastructure technologies and to participate in India's expanding electronics manufacturing ecosystem, which is valued at over US$ 115 billion.
