The Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) 2024 will support up to 3.72 lakh electric vehicles over four months from April to July, with a budget of US$ 58.91 million (Rs. 493.55 crore). This initiative aims to boost green mobility and India's electric vehicle manufacturing industry.

Under EMPS 2024, a total of 3,72,215 electric vehicles will be assisted, including 3,33,387 electric two-wheelers, 13,590 e-rickshaws or e-carts, and 25,238 electric three-wheelers in the L5 category. The scheme is limited by funds and the number of vehicles it can support, with subsidies available until either the funds are exhausted, the maximum number of vehicles per category is reached, or July 31, 2024, whichever comes first, as per the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
