DoT launches initiative to support MSMEs and Startups in Industry 4.0 transformation

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) is launching a new initiative to assist organizations and startups in adopting emerging Industry technologies. Through the "Industry 4.0 Baseline Survey among MSMEs," the DoT aims to promote digital transformation and prepare industries for the forthcoming 5G and 6G technologies. This survey seeks to understand the challenges that Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) face in embracing Industry 4.0 and leveraging advanced technologies. By identifying sector-specific needs in at least 10 sectors and providing targeted support, the initiative aims to establish a robust ecosystem capable of capitalizing on Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, and integrating 5G and 6G networks.

The survey will be conducted over 60 days, covering five sectors in India's Northern and Southern regions. The insights gathered will inform policy interventions to facilitate the adoption of Industry 4.0. By addressing these challenges, the initiative aims to enhance MSMEs' competitive positioning and sustainability, fostering innovation and competitiveness in the sector.
