Department of Posts Plays a Vital Role in the Socio-Economic Development of the Country- Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav

The Department of Posts, one of India's oldest institutions, celebrated its foundation day on October 1, 2024, marking 170 years of service in the nation’s socio-economic development. Postmaster General of the North Gujarat Region, Mr. Krishna Kumar Yadav, addressed attendees at the Ahmedabad GPO, emphasizing the department's significant evolution beyond traditional mail services. A Dak Chaupal was organized during the event to inform the public about various government schemes. Mr. Yadav, alongside dignitaries including MLA Mr. Dariyapur Shri Kaushikbhai Jain and Director Postal Services Ms. Meeta K. Shah, distributed passbooks for savings accounts, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana accounts, Mahila Samman Savings Certificates, and Postal Life Insurance. A blood donation camp was also held to encourage community participation.

Mr. Yadav highlighted that the Department of Posts offers a wide range of services that contribute to financial inclusion and the Digital India initiative. Services include savings banks, Postal Life Insurance, India Post Payments Bank, and Aadhaar enrolment. He noted the department's role in promoting local products through Dakghar Niryat Kendras, aligning with the "Vocal for Local" and "Atmanirbhar Bharat" movements.
