Agriculture exports likely to double to US$ 100 billion by 2030: Commerce Secy

India's current agriculture exports, exceeding US$ 50 billion, are anticipated to double by 2030, reaching US$ 100 billion, as stated by Commerce Secretary Mr. Sunil Barthwal on Monday. He emphasized the country's goal of achieving US$ 2 trillion in exports of goods and services by 2030. Speaking at the IndusFood Show 2024, he highlighted the substantial growth potential in segments like ready-to-eat foods. He urged the industry to prioritize the technical standards required by importing nations. Commerce and Industry Minister Mr. Piyush Goyal, inaugurating the event, expressed confidence that this fiscal year's agricultural exports will surpass last year's US$ 53 billion despite restrictions on certain key commodities.
